The Nats defeated the Braves last night 3-0 to clinch the NL East.

There was a lot of excitement in the air for last night’s Nats broadcast as they knew that lots of people were tuning in to see if DC could clinch the division. Nats pregame had some nice words about the Navy Yard shooting and following that MASN showed Ray Knight’s lost audition tape for “Gran Torino”:

OK enough about these guys.  Let’s cut to the action.  How did the Nats get their first two runs?  On a colossal home run from Ian Desmond:

A two run cushion was more than enough for Roark last night.  Time for the good stuff…  Bottom of the ninth, two outs– the final pitch as non-NL East champions:

There were lots of post game interviews (poor Dan Kolko– more on that later this afternoon in “Dan Kolko: A Tragedy in Three Acts”).  You’ve probably seen most of them already so let’s wrap this up with a video of Roark officially being invited to every bachelor party ever followed by a collection of screen grabs of Nats players drinking.
